Primary Purpose: To assist in the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that it will achieve the maximum positive impact on each child's education.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: * High School Diploma * Experience as secretary, with a high degree of proficiency in all secretarial skills * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and * Meet certification requirements for this position Special Knowledge/Skills: * Basic knowledge of computers, Microsoft Programs and office Major Responsibilities and Duties: * Act as secretary to Assistant Principals as needed.
* Prepare and maintain faculty & staff sign-in/sign-out sheets.
* Assist in filling all testing information, report cards and student pictures into permanent filies at end of school year.
* Manage Assistant Principals' office and serve as a receptionist to persons entering the office.
* Assist teachers, students and other office personnel as needed.
* Supervise student assistant job assignments in the AP's office.
* Maintain and update student discipline folders.
* Mail all discipline information to parents.
* Collect and send assignments to ISS, DAEP, and AT-Home Suspension.
Communicate daily with ISS and DAEP teacher on work for students and messages for teachers.
* Maintain infomation on students who are suspended, homebound, home campus, expelled, etc and submit daily list to faculty.
* Handle emergencies in AP's office (call parents, nurse, 911, if necessary). Assist students to the nurse if needed.
* Record after school detention information.
Supply a copy of the after school detention list to the detention teacher.
* Assist with discipline packets for APs.
* Assist APs in assigning and processing student SAC and ASD assignments.
* Handle early release/late release students.
* Maintain lock list for campus.
* Type SAC list on weekly basis and submit to teachers.
* Process print shop order for office forms.
* Assist AP in preparing non-secure materials for TAKS or any other type of testing.
* Perform general office work.
* Assist the Attendance Clerk/Registrar and the Principal's secretary as needed.
* Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations concerning primary job functions.
* Receive and distribute mail.
* Serve as the Campus Notary.
* Dress professionally according to district requirements.
* Display tolerance necessary for accepting supervision for and criticism of job performance.
* Work in harmony with supervisory, faculty, and peer personnel.
* Use professional information discreetly and judiciously.
* Support and follow administrative and Board policy.
* Represent the school system to the community in a positive, professional way.
* Maintain a sincere, friendly attitude toward patrons to insure communication.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment: Work year established by the Board; salary according to current schedule.
