We are looking for a Hands-On Technical Publications Application Developer (Aerospace Industry) with a passion for supporting Technical Publications Software/Manuals with our team based in East Hartford, CT. You will take ownership of critical development tasks that support the authoring, publishing and distribution of our technical publications. Ideally you are an Aerospace Engineer who enjoys coding and documentation. You have a unique and blended skillset. Also, you enjoy your role, communicate very well and are enthusiastic about implementing the best practices. You will also have at least five years of Development Experience within a Waterfall and/or SAFe 6 Scaled Agile and/or Kanban Implementation Practice.
Key Responsibilities: · Support MDE Technical Publications team as an Application Developer. · Develop and update applications that support the authoring, publishing, and distribution of Technical Publications. · Migrate data from legacy systems to new systems. · System integration for seamless operations and dataflow between technical publications applications.
Requirements Qualifications: · At least five yearsâ experience in development with Python, XML (including XSLT & XSD), HTML, and CSS. · Develop and maintain high-quality technical manuals (IETMs/IETPs, user guides, maintenance procedures) in compliance with S1000D and/or iSpec 2200 standards. · Collaborate with engineering and product teams to extract technical data, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. · At least five yearsâ experience with SQL and PL/SQL. · Perform quality assurance reviews, style consistency checks, and usability testing on technical content. · Proficiency in Jenkins pipeline development. · Familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems. · Experience using GitHub. · Experience with JIRA. · Excellent communication and ability to think critically. · Ability to work on a highly functioning team, preferably in person in East Hartford, CT. Remote options would be considered for the right candidate. · A Bachelorâ s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications: · Working Knowledge of Technical Publication Standards such as S1000D and iSpec 2200. · Five yearsâ experience within the Aerospace Industry. · Experience with Apache SOLR. · Familiarity with Azure and AWS Cloud · Extreme Desire to actively and continuously learn while striving for continuous improvement with development and documentation support. · A high-level understanding of Corena Software. · Five yearsâ experience working with documentation associated with aircraft engines. · A Passion for learning about the Aerospace Industry. Additional Information: · This position may require occasional travel or flexible working hours, depending on project needs and timelines. · This position is ideally onsite in East Hartford, CT. Depending upon a candidateâ s credentials the candidate could work in a hybrid or remote situation with occasional travel to the Office located in East Hartford, CT.
