Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Strategy & Execution

Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance plans for all rolling mill equipment.

Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for chronic equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions.

Ensure proper functioning of critical assets such as rolling stands, loopers, shears, gearboxes, motors, AC/DC drives, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

Engineering Management

Provide technical leadership in troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues in steel rolling lines.

Review and approve engineering designs, modifications, and upgrades of mill equipment.

Oversee plant utility systems relevant to rolling operations, including compressed air, cooling systems, and lubrication systems.

Automation & Electrical Oversight

Manage the operation and maintenance of automation systems (Siemens/ABB PLCs, SCADA, HMI).

Supervise teams responsible for drive systems, control panels, and power distribution for rolling lines.

Ensure optimal functioning of instrumentation, load cells, encoders, and other process sensors.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, coach, and develop a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Conduct training programs on equipment reliability, safety, and troubleshooting best practices.

Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safe work practices.

Budgeting & Inventory

Prepare and manage the annual engineering and maintenance budget.

Oversee spare parts inventory, supplier negotiations, and maintenance contracts.

Track and optimize maintenance KPIs (downtime, MTTR, MTBF, OEE).

Compliance & Safety

Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local regulatory, environmental, and safety standards.

Conduct regular risk assessments and audits of maintenance practices.

Implement and maintain ISO, 5S, and TPM standards in maintenance operations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.

Minimum 8–10 years of experience in steel manufacturing, particularly in rolling mill operations.

At least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within an engineering/maintenance department.

Strong knowledge of rolling processes, machine diagnostics, and asset management tools.

Proficiency with CMMS, AutoCAD, PLC programming, and root cause analysis tools.

Certification in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, or Lean Six Sigma is a plus.
