Monday 9:00am - 3:30pm - Office hours
Tuesday 9:00am - 2:45pm - Office hours
Wednesday 3:00pm - 11:15pm - DSP hours
Thursday - 2:15pm - 11:15pm - DSP hours
Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a private, non-profit organization supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager to support one of our residential homes. The ideal candidate requires a background and passion in supporting those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
At least two years working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
Management experience is a nice to have.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least age 18.
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:
Assist the manager in overseeing daily operations of the program, meeting all company and state of CT policies and regulations.
Assist in overseeing staff and scheduling for adequate coverage.
Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
Provide direct care for some shifts and to cover when DSP's are out.
Share in on call responsibilities.
Participate in various meetings, programmatic and business meetings as requested.
Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity and respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work cooperatively with all BARC employees, individuals served, families, supervisors, and other providers or professionals.
Willing and able to complete all essential responsibilities.
Working knowledge of computers.
Physical Efforts:
May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds, push/pull varying weight (wheelchairs) or have to safely transfer ~35 pounds.
