Job Overview
This position supervises the organization and daily operations pertaining to warehouse assignments and provides direction to subordinates guided by established policies and practices. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgement and overall quality and efficiency. Interprets and executes policies that affect warehouse staff. Monitors warehouse operations daily and actively assists or provides direction to warehouse staff as needed.
Job Responsibilities
Supervision, training and continued improvement of Warehouse staff and teams.
Compile and issue required reports including inventory, dead stock, goods age, consumption
Monitor quantity and quality of commodities stored
Carry out regular physical random warehouse checks of commodities and inventory
Maintain housekeeping of warehouse and surrounding area
Assess the availability of space and prepare stacking/storage plans prior to commodities arrival
Work closely with Warehouse Manager to assure materials are received and inventoried in a timely, orderly, and cost-effective manner
Communicate proactively with the Warehouse Manager and Production manager on materials issues that may impact the Facilities’ ability to meet shipping schedules
Establish proper stock levels to meet desired customer service needs and company policies
Supervise transactions related to materials availability and open order accuracy
Work with the Quality Engineer to ensure and maintain compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA)
Responsible for quality as related to job duties, and has the authority to address issues of quality at any level
Job Requirements
High School graduate or GED; and/or minimum three years of experience in assembly and manufacturing operations. Must have demonstrated leadership skills through experience
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Logistics principles
In-depth understanding of cycle counting method and process
Proficient in analysis and design of supply chain solutions with strong information systems orientation
Solid computer skills in MS Office, Outlook, SAP experience a must
Regular attendance at Safety Committee meetings for review and discussion of the performance of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and (Occupational Health & Safety Association (OHSA); ensuring processes remain sustainable, suitable, and effective
Continuous assessment of opportunities for improvement and any needed changes to management systems
Physical Demands
The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to operate basic tools, keyboards or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
The employee is occasionally required to walk frequently, sit; and may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
Ability to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment
