Summary of Position Functions

The Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects of the field operations to effectively execute energy construction projects.

Essential Position Functions

Oversees and assists in the development of procedures to increase effectiveness of the overall division including estimated job profits.

Manages department leaders, general foremen, and assigned trade personnel.

Ensures customer satisfaction, quality, and proactive improvement.

Participates in weekly meetings to inform management of issues and progress.

Works with human resources and safety as needed on personnel and training issues.

Works with marketing and estimators to ensure the team’s uniformity of project delivery throughout the organization.

Coordinates with purchasing to maintain material levels and ensures orders are placed when necessary.

Manages projects, controlling job cost and ensuring job profitability.

Ensures general foremen are reviewing submittals for accuracy.

Oversees the department’s turnover process for projects sold from the estimating department.

Works with estimating to fit the established sales goals.

Provides continued development of customer relationships.

Ensures all company policies are enforced, followed, and any discrepancies reported.

Provides timely input and maintains long-term labor forecasts.

Provides line-item productivity feedback to the estimating department to keep our means and methods in line with how estimating factors cost.

Ensures all internal procedures and policies are being utilized and followed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervising sub-contractors at the job sites.

Education and Qualifications

To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or three+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Management of trade related construction experience required.

At least three (3) years of related experience at the superintendent level or above required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work a second shift schedule 50% to 75% of the time.

Knowledge of Veregy’s services and processes is required which can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.

Knowledge (Intermediate to advanced) of various operating systems, software products (e.g. MS Office, etc.), is required.

Ability to work independently and efficiently manage time/workload.

Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management and staff.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to perform basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers; to perform the four basic arithmetic operations with money; to perform operations with units such as inch, foot, yard, ounce, pound, or metric counterparts.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priorities with end users.

Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Osha 10 or 30 preferred.

Travel Requirement

Local travel in the Southern California area 25% to 50%.
