Accounting Specialist

Job Description

Essential Functions:

Accounts Receivable:

· Set up and review new/old accounts for terms, credit limits, etc. running credit history and updating accounting software.

· AR aging and collections as needed: Contact customers via email, or phone when necessary for prepayments, payments, aging issues or related problems.

· Run credit card/e-checks and corresponding receivable entries.

· Perform daily invoicing and related tasks (including EDI postings).

· Process credit memos as needed.

· Process daily cash receipts, deposits, and reconciliation.

Accounts Payable:

· Maintain up-to-date billing system.

· Review, verify and approve invoices

· Code and enter invoices

· Prepare and perform check runs

· Monitor payments, research & resolve discrepancies

· Maintain Vendor files

· Perform bank statement reconciliation

· Perform monthly, quarterly and year end reporting

· Prepare 1099 and 1096 forms

Preferred Skills:

· Experience with AR, AP and Sage software.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Accounting,.
