Registration Clerk in Emer Dept - Full Time 7PM-7AM

Troy Regional is seeking candidates for a FULL TIME Position to work NIGHTS (7PM-7AM) in ER Registration.

The Registration Clerk will register patients as they present to the facility for Emergency Room treatment, testing or admission. This position will work closely with the physician's office or the Emergency Department to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed correctly, insurance verification/information is obtained and documented, and pre-authorization of benefits is initiated. The individual is also responsible for accurately entering patient data into the accounting system and collecting applicable deductibles and co-payments at the time of service.

HOURS: This position will primarily work 12 hour shifts as scheduled in the ER Registration Department.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of Medical terminology is helpful in this position.

EXPERIENCE: One year of healthcare office experience is recommended and preferred. A working knowledge of basic medical office and insurance terminology is preferred. Must be able to multi-task and work without supervision. Business telephone and communication skills are required.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES: Current Alabama driver's license
