Position Overview:
Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a dedicated AV Hardware Specialist to manage and support audio visual systems and computer lab operations at the FLETC Charleston facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality AV functionality across classrooms and labs, providing direct support to instructors and students.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver Tier I and Tier II technical support for Government-furnished AV equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs.
Identify and resolve technical faults; perform cleaning, replacements, and minor component swaps.
Label and track all AV equipment using FLETC asset control procedures.
Equip classrooms daily with AV resources per the training schedule.
Assist instructors and students with AV and communication equipment issuance.
Support VTC setup and usage as needed.
Supervise and maintain the Computer Lab (35 workstations, 2 network printers).
Assist with day-to day IT support functions on service desk.
Provide basic troubleshooting and software/hardware assistance.
Maintain lab and common area copiers; replenish toner and paper.
Perform nightly logoff and equipment shutdown.
Submit daily activity reports to the COR including equipment issues and student usage.
Qualifications:
Experience with AV hardware, troubleshooting, and basic repairs.
Familiarity with computer lab environments, including workstations and network printers.
Working knowledge of common office software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to follow technical manuals and government procedures.
Previous government contract or law enforcement training center experience is a plus.
