NetFire is looking for a versatile and forward-thinking individual to serve as a strategic partner to our Chief Technology Officer. This role bridges the gap between project management, technical leadership, and R&D. You’ll oversee software development efforts, help drive innovative initiatives, and contribute to the strategic evolution of our cloud and AI-powered platforms.

While technical understanding is essential, we’re seeking someone with a strong aptitude for leadership, research, and emerging technologies and who thrives on cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and bringing new ideas to life.

This role is on a leadership track and will evolve into Director of R&D position, with increasing ownership over innovation efforts and development operations.

Responsibilities:

Strategic & Project Leadership

Partner with the CTO to translate business goals into actionable R&D and software development initiatives.

Manage and mentor a cross-functional development team.

Plan, organize, and execute complex technical projects from discovery to deployment.

Develop project roadmaps and ensure delivery timelines are met without compromising quality.

Technology & Innovation Oversight

Stay on the pulse of emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

Lead research efforts, technology evaluations, and prototype development for future product ideas.

Explore and present new tools, platforms, or methodologies that can benefit the business.

Team Collaboration & Development Standards

Collaborate with developers, designers, and product stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with design and business intent.

Champion and help enforce modern development standards, testing practices, and scalable architecture.

Conduct and facilitate code reviews and document best practices for knowledge transfer and consistency.

R&D Planning & Execution

Support the design of internal systems, experimental products, and customer-facing innovations.

Help assess third-party platforms, APIs, and vendor solutions.

Contribute to strategic planning sessions and innovation initiatives with leadership team.

Requirements

Education:

High school diploma or GED required.

Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or related fields is a plus, but not required.

Technical certifications or demonstrated self-directed learning also welcomed.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in web development, technology leadership, technical project management, or product development role.

Experience working closely with software development teams.

Portfolio, GitHub, or case studies of projects or R&D initiatives preferred.

Skills:

Strong interest in emerging technologies, cloud platforms, and innovation strategy.

Excellent research, writing, and technical documentation skills.

Proven ability to organize teams, set priorities, and deliver results on time.

Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Understanding of modern development tools and workflows (e.g., Git, CI/CD, APIs, Agile).

Familiarity with technologies like JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, React, Express/NestJS, PostgreSQL, etc.

Comfortable reviewing technical designs in Figma or collaborating on system architecture discussions.

Experience in an R&D, innovation, or startup environment.

Background in UI/UX, DevOps, or data-driven product development.

Knowledge of languages like Python, Go, or Rust.
