Position Summary

The Team Leader assists Supervisors with project setup, oversight, and completion. As the secondary point of contact for clients in the absence of Supervisors, the Team Leader ensures effective communication and continuity of service. This role includes supervising and training inspectors, developing work instructions, conducting layered audits, and performing inspector duties as needed

Position Responsibilities

• Initiate, oversee, and close projects in accordance with Global SQ and client procedures.

• Enhance customer service through regular interaction and timely escalation of improvement opportunities.

• Allocate project resources based on job requirements and inspector capabilities and communicate project activities and needs to management.

• Develop and refine work instructions to improve customer and supplier inspection and rework processes. Verify and correct project documentation as needed.

• Obtain and submit client billing information as required.

• Address new job requests in line with customer delivery requirements.

• Monitor active projects for certified material arrivals and communicate receipt in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate turnover logs documenting all relevant project activities.

• Certify project team members using appropriate documentation.

• Conduct layered audits (People, Parts, Process, Paperwork, Protection).

• Perform inspections and rework on parts as necessary.

• Assist in creating and implementing training programs for Inspectors.

• Evaluate Inspectors and temporary team members for efficiency, accuracy, and competence. Provide recommendations for retention, advancement, and disciplinary actions as needed.

• Manage project tools and request replacements when necessary.

• Ensure work areas are clean and organized according to 5S standards.

Position Qualifications - KSA (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• High school diploma or demonstrated ability to perform required functions.

• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and apply written work instructions.

• Familiarity with using powered and non-powered hand tools (preferred).

• Experience with basic gauges (calipers, micrometers, scales) (preferred).

• Previous manufacturing or inspection experience (preferred).

• Valid driver's license (preferred).

• Able to pass a criminal background check, Motor Vehicle Report, and initial and subsequent drug screenings.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and apply written work instructions and related documents.

• Attention to detail and the ability to follow directions.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Ability to balance quality and productivity while inspecting parts to meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Accurate and thorough collection and recording of project data.

• Proficiency in using gauges and basic metrology tools.

• Capability to perform detail-oriented and repetitive tasks.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines.

• Compliance with all safety instructions and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

• Adherence to client policies, uniform standards, and performance and conduct standards.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

• Capability to complete training requirements promptly.

• Flexibility to travel to project locations and work overtime with minimal notice.

• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Corrected 20/20 vision and ability to distinguish colors (red, yellow, green).

• Physical ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and handle weights of 10-50 pounds for extended periods.

• Good hand/eye coordination and dexterity, with visual acuity for precise tasks.

• Ability to work around dust, mist, vapors, and fumes while using proper PPE.
