Great Parks is seeking an energized and qualified Talent Development Specialist to join our Human Resources team! This individual will develop, design, deliver and evaluate effective and innovative talent development programs for our employees and will manage our learning management system. They will also provide programming that promotes wellbeing in the organization and provide learning opportunities to promote the culture and employer brand of Great Parks.

The successful candidate will:

Develop and deliver staff development learning opportunities including new hire orientation.

Coordinate and administer the learning management system (LMS); offers LMS expertise to organizational members to promote self-directed learning; provides LMS assistance and support to both staff and volunteers. Contributes to the design, development and delivery of leadership development opportunities.

Coordinate training programs with external vendors (consultants); schedules and markets programs internally; administers purchase order and payment of invoices.

Responsible for administering the Tuition Reimbursement program at Great Parks; coordinates timely reimbursements to staff; markets the program internally; tracks applications in preparation of budget proposal.

Support learning that complements the inclusion strategies of the organization.

Develop training curricula and/or recommend or utilize vendor programs that meet instructional goals and objectives.

Formulate training outlines and determines instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.

Provides effective program delivery while employing adult learning principles; facilitates engaging learning opportunities.

Coordinate and markets programs that promote employee well-being.

Select or develop training content and curriculum including aids, training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.

Contribute to the performance management practices at Great Parks including competency development.

Coordinate or perform administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.

Assist in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals and divisions.

Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs and utilizes relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.

Provide coordination and assistance with safety training for the agency.

Assist with employee relations as needed.

Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external team members, including leaders, team members and volunteers.

Contribute to efforts that promote employee engagement.

Performs other job duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, human resources, communications, or other related field required.

A minimum of 3-5 years of training and development experience (program development and facilitation/delivery) experience required.

Proven experience with administration of learning management systems required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software required.

Experience facilitating learning leveraging technology, web-based programs, remote facilitation (Teams); classroom technology required.

Thorough understanding adult learning principles required.

Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

Experience with Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

Previous training/certification in program facilitation skills preferred.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Experience working as a member of a Human Resources team.

LICENSE OF CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

State Motor Vehicle Operator's License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines.
