TITLE: Associate, Quantitative Research Analyst

LOCATION: New York, NY (A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with company policies.)

DUTIES: Utilize mathematical and statistical models to solve important problems in private market investing, including identifying return drivers and attributes of private market portfolios. Analyze manager performance and dissect market-driven factors from actual manager skill. Develop economic forecasts and industry views. Help to evaluate both private wealth and institutional clients’ private market portfolios, identifying opportunities for active management in order to achieve portfolio objectives. Liaise with other groups around the firm on topics of private market cash flow forecasting and portfolio construction. Lead data-driven research initiatives to support marketing efforts, and the investment decision-making process, including the valuation of private market funds. Contribute to the design, development, and evaluation of proprietary software tools used in the assessment of private market investment opportunities. Design presentations for internal investment groups, external investors, and conferences.

REQTS: Must have a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Financial Engineering, Economics, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in the financial services field in the position offered, or as a Quantitative Analyst, or a related position. Must have two (2) years of experience in the financial services field with all of the following: Conducting research and deriving insights from private market datasets including Burgiss, Cambridge, Preqin or Pitchbook as well as from asset manager data derived from private market investments; Communicating complex research findings to asset manager's investors and clients; Applying a selection of statistical tools including Python, R, Stata or Matlab for data analysis; Modeling private market cash flows, including using a Takahashi model, in a stochastic framework; Modeling private equity co-investment portfolios, considering asset-level diversification and the interplay between returns and cash flows; Performing asset allocation in an optimization framework that allows for public and private assets to be modeled together, on a like-for-like basis; Performing valuation for private equity assets using statistical models; and Acquiring, cleaning, and analyzing financial and economic data and deriving actionable insights.

HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (40 hrs/week)

SALARY: $175,000 - $185,000 per year

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$185,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
