Job Description Scope of Position The mission of Ohio State's Wexner Medical Center is to improve people's lives through innovation in research, education and patient care. The primary focus of the department of OSU Occupational Health and Wellness Services is to ensure the highest level of employee health and wellness. The goals of the department include (but are not limited to): a) provide a high level of engagement with new employees regarding health and wellness consistent with accountable care and P4 medicine principles; b) proactively engage new hires in available health and wellness services using an integrated point of entry; c) keep new hires and convert current employees to seek primary care and specialty care services within the health system; and d) provide acute care services (e.g., TB surveillance, blood/body fluid exposures, work-related injury care, etc) for employees, faculty and staff. As an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, the Occupational Health Coordinator manages the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of health, wellness and acute-care services in order to achieve positive patient care outcomes and meet organization wide goals as a workplace of choice. Position Summary The Coordinator is responsible for managing the overall provision of health, wellness and acute-employee care services to employees who present for services. He/she is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating interdisciplinary plans of care; prioritizes patient care needs and communicates those needs to other health care providers within the team. The Health Coordinator is responsible for developing, managing, coordinating and overseeing departmental programs that support employee safety and wellness (e.g., wellness counseling, coordination of care among primary care and specialty care access, health coaching, health and wellness benefits education, as well as supervising surveillance activities in accordance with Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Level Degree Required Qualifications Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required, Master's degree in nursing, public health, healthcare administration and/or other clinical discipline preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years in acute care nursing or occupational medicine. Previous experience in leading clinical project teams preferred.
