Organization's Summary Statement:
The Communications Specialist/Social Media Content Creator serves as a key strategist responsible for developing and implementing an integrated social media program. This individual creates engaging and informative content that tells the FM story and enhances the organizational image. The Communications
Specialist manages day-to-day social media operations, including shooting and editing photos and short videos, content scheduling, posting, and responding to comments and messages.
The ideal candidate for this position should be adept at crafting clear and concise content that effectively communicates complex information to diverse audiences, have an exceptional eye for aesthetics, and enjoy a hands-on approach to tracking down and sharing great stories via meaningful images and words.
This is a contractual position. The appointment would be for six months and can be renewed for an additional six months.

Physical Demands:
Position resides in a professional office environment; incumbent may be required to travel on or off campus to attend meetings or to deliver or receive materials for the unit. The position is telework eligible, subject to supervisor approval.
Preferences:
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
Familiarity with AP style.
Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Experience working in higher education.
Licenses/ Certifications:
The incumbent must possess a driver’s license, as duties require the incumbent to travel to and from meetings and project sites both on and off campus. If driving a state vehicle, the incumbent must possess a valid MD Class C driver’s license or equivalent with fewer than six (6) points.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in related field.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
