Oversee employer relations and recruiting operations for the College of Engineering, developing strategic initiatives and managing year-round employer services and systems. Serve as the primary liaison with employers, create innovative recruiting programs, and ensure high-quality engagement and outcomes for both students and employers. Provide expert guidance on recruitment systems and processes, analyze data to drive improvements, and lead efforts to cultivate and expand employer partnerships.
60% Lead and manage year-round recruiting operations and services utilized by employers and students. Develop and implement strategic objectives for employer engagement, service delivery, and recruitment systems. Design and manage innovative recruiting programs to provide maximum value to employers and optimal outcomes for students. Serve as the primary contact for new employer partnerships, building and maintaining strong relationships through exceptional customer service and ongoing support. Maintains and optimizes the employer side of the platform (e.g., Handshake), including access, data accuracy, reporting, and feature usage. Train employers on ECS systems, recruitment policies, and procedures. Identify and address potential issues to enhance employer and student satisfaction. Analyze usage data and trends to improve services and outreach efforts. Maintain and update employer-facing content on the ECS website. Supervise and mentor the Recruiting & Events Coordinator, including setting performance expectations and monitoring outcomes. Lead the ECS Employer Team in strategic planning, partnership development, program evaluation, and service improvements. Supervise and train student assistants to support recruiting initiatives. Develop and implement policies that promote continuous improvement and superior customer service. Use employer feedback and performance metrics to enhance operations. Design and deliver employer recruitment reports and staff training sessions as needed.
40% Plan and execute multiple large-scale career fairs annually, serving thousands of students and hundreds of employers. Develop and lead student teams of career fair coordinators and volunteers. Act as liaison between employers, students, volunteers, and university partners. Innovate and implement new career fair practices and formats to improve engagement and success. Manage career fair budgets and ensure compliance with university financial policies. Oversee employer registration, payments, and resolve conflicts or issues during events. Manage event setup within Handshake and ensure functionality of attendance-tracking kiosk systems. Promote participation in post-event surveys and analyze data for continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education/Education; Communications; Counseling/Psychology; Business Administration/Management; Human Resources/Recruiting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, at least 6 years of relevant experience, Proven track record in program planning, administration, and budget management., Experience in employer relations and working with student populations. Management experience, including supervision and team development, Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated a collaborative, team-oriented approach to service delivery.
Desired Qualifications Master’s degree in Higher Education/Education; Communications; Counseling/Psychology; Business Administration/Management; Human Resources/Recruiting,, Extensive experience in college career services. Proficiency with web-based career services platforms (e.g., Handshake). Strong written and verbal communication skills. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
