The Nurse independently practices in a clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care.
Provides routine and complex nursing care, planning long-term goals and managing contingencies.
Delegates tasks appropriately to care providers to ensure effective management of clinical situations.
Meets competencies related to self-leadership and team leadership, adhering to ANA standards.
Utilizes the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation—for assigned patients.
Addresses the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring side effects and effectiveness.
Documents patient histories, symptoms, and care provided.
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred), at least 1 year of relevant experience, BLS certification, and an RN license in the state of employment or compact. The position is per diem as needed.
