The Wound Care Nurse provides clinical consultation and support for managing complex wounds, pressure ulcers, ostomies, fistulas, and incontinence, ensuring evidence-based practices for skin integrity and wound management.

Responsibilities include managing wound care programs, monitoring patient outcomes, and collaborating with healthcare teams to develop patient education.

Develops and implements educational programs for patients, staff, and providers.

Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current NM nursing license and BLS certification.

Preferred specialty certification in wound care (e.g., CWCN, CWON, CWOCN).

At least two years of acute care experience managing complex wounds and ostomies.

Work Environment & Skills:

Supervised by wound care leadership, with exposure to infectious diseases and unpredictable situations.

Must handle emergency situations, stand/walk for extended periods, and operate hospital equipment and technology.

Excellent communication, teaching, problem-solving, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
