The Registered Nurse Lactation Counselor provides expert breastfeeding support and education to mothers and infants through in-person, phone, and outpatient services.
They assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized lactation care using the nursing process.
Responsibilities include patient education on breastfeeding techniques, addressing challenges, and developing personalized care plans.
Collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care and follow-up.
Provides staff training on lactation best practices and contributes to program development and quality improvement.
Requires an ADN or higher nursing degree, RN license, IBCLC certification, and BLS.
Preferred experience in hospital and outpatient lactation care, with strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Work schedule is three 12-hour days, full-time.
