Description:
The Wound Care Clinical Specialist provides expert consultation and support on managing complex wounds, pressure ulcers, ostomies, fistulas, and incontinence, ensuring evidence-based practices to improve skin integrity and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities include managing wound care programs, developing patient education, and creating educational programs for staff and healthcare providers.
Requires a graduate of an accredited nursing program, current NM nursing license, BLS certification, and preferred specialty certification in wound care (e.g., CWCN, CWON, CWOCN).
Must have excellent communication, teaching, problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop interdisciplinary collaborations.
Minimum of two years of acute care experience with managing complex wounds and ostomies is required.
Supervised by nursing leadership, working in an environment with exposure to infectious diseases and unpredictable situations, requiring physical stamina and good body mechanics.
