Due to an impending retirement, our client needs a Divisional Controller who will oversee their accounting operations in their 2 Wisconsin sawmills. This position leads the financial and administrative staff at the plants and is accountable for plant-level responsibilities, including general accounting, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, fixed assets, business analysis and financial reporting. You will also liaison with corporate staff. You will report to the CFO/V.P. of Finance.

What you will be doing:
· Manage the Division’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and annual audit. Ensure that the financial transactions, policies and procedures meet the organization's short and long-term business objectives and are conducted in accordance with regulations, accounting principles and standards.
· Establish (in coordination with Sawmill Division Manager and CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring and reporting standards on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
· Provide financial analysis, with emphasis on strategic planning, operating efficiency, capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
· Further develop, implement and maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, workflows and internal financial controls, to maximize protection of company assets and minimize risk.
· Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements and periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP. Ensure the timely reporting of key financial data and updates to the Sawmill Division Manager, CFO and other key stakeholders.
· Direct the Finance and accounting team and ensure their ongoing professional development and training.
· Participate in key decisions as a member of the Sawmill Management team and participate in weekly and monthly plant production/financial meetings for each of the sawmills, focusing on operating efficiency and applying best practices.

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field
· 5-10 years as Plant Controller or Cost Manager in a manufacturing environment with supervisory responsibilities. Emphasis on cost accounting, reporting and variance analysis
· Excellent knowledge of data analysis, risk management, and forecasting methods
· Strong leadership and organizational skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
