Position Summary:

The Inbound Scheduler is responsible for managing and coordinating all inbound freight appointments for the Cranbury facility. This role ensures timely and accurate scheduling, with careful adherence to capacity limitations, customer-specific requirements, and regulatory considerations. The scheduler serves as a central point of contact between customers, carriers, and internal teams, supporting overall receiving efficiency and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Enter ASNs and schedule all inbound loads for customers at the Cranbury facility.

Prioritize appointment requests in accordance with internal SOPs and balancing container appointments based on last free day (LFD).

Communicate professionally with carriers and customers to confirm load details and schedule appointments.

Ensure all special instructions are accurately captured and documented, including:

Palletization or load type (floor, palletized, slip sheet, etc.)

Regulatory holds (USDA, FDA), customer-directed holds, new items, revised configurations, refrigerated trailers, etc.

Accurately assign inbound orders to loads and maintain updated load information including SCAC codes, seal numbers, and appointment types.

Run and interpret workload reports to ensure appointment scheduling remains within operational max limits.

Adhere to month-end scheduling restrictions and ensure compliance with customer-specific blackout dates and capacity limits.

Update appointment status and notes in the system, including missed/rescheduled loads and any pertinent ASN details.

Coordinate with the company's transportation broker to backfill rescheduled time slots as needed.

Ensure timely acknowledgment and confirmation of all appointment requests.

In addition to coordinating inbound shipments, this role will also be responsible for handling a limited portion of outbound scheduling, such as consolidated loads for UNFI and KeHe.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in logistics, scheduling, or warehouse operations.

Excellent attention to detail, with a strong sense of urgency and organizational skills.

Proficient in communication, both written and verbal.

Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Familiarity with warehouse management systems (Synapse) is highly desirable.

Knowledge of inbound logistics and regulatory compliance (FDA, USDA, etc.) is a plus.
