Our client is seeking a Payroll Administrator who's not just a numbers person-but a people person, too.

This role will oversee weekly payroll processing, support human resources functions, and play a key role in financial reporting.

You'll work closely with the Controller to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, while also administering essential benefits and compliance processes.

What You'll Do: As the Payroll Administrator, you will oversee payroll operations and collaborate with the Controller to ensure that employees are paid on time and with accuracy.

Your responsibilities will span a range of duties, including but not limited to: + Managing payroll processes, including timesheet importing, payroll calculations, and deductions (child support, taxes, etc.). + Ensuring compliance with union reporting, tax filings, and government regulations on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual bases.

+ Administering HR programs like new hire orientation, benefit enrollments (health, dental, COBRA, and 401(k)), and employee record management.

+ Assisting with recruitment activities, drug testing, background checks, and unemployment procedures.

+ Preparing journal entries and completing tax returns, all under the guidance of the Controller.

+ Acting as a trusted resource for employees on payroll inquiries and benefits questions.

Requirements Your Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you should bring the following skills and experience: + A degree in accounting (minimum two-year; four-year degree preferred) and at least four years of payroll experience.

+ Strong knowledge of payroll systems, particularly Sage, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

+ Exceptional time-management skills, an eye for detail, and accuracy working with numbers.

+ The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and adhere to deadlines.

+ A professional and collaborative demeanor when interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

+ Experience within the construction industry is a strong plus!
