General Statement of Duties Forsyth County Parks and Recreation is seeking a motivated individual for a Part Time Maintenance Technician I position to perform basic building and grounds maintenance.

This is a great opportunity to work within the Parks & Recreation field in a pleasing outdoor County Park location.

Schedule The schedule may vary, and this position may be required to work alternate schedule on an as needed basis.

Works in all weather types and fills in if vacancies arise.

April - November: Sunday-Tuesday 4 hours per day (3 hours in the morning opening park; 1 hour in the evening closing the park) November - April: Sunday-Tuesday 3 hours per day (2 hours in the morning opening park; 1 hour in the evening closing the park) Distinguishing Features All applicants should have the following knowledge, skill and abilities: Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.

Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public.

Ability to independently adhere to a time schedule.

Ability to maintain order and ensure compliance with rules.

Ability to operate and care for power equipment and hand tools.

Ability to inspect and report needs for repairs.

Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds.

Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and one year experience in basic building or grounds maintenance A valid driver's license is required.

Must have demonstrated ability to safely operate small to medium motorized equipment.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the minimum requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Employee will be responsible for cleaning public restrooms, replenishing public restroom supplies, trash removal, pet waste stations, backpack blowing, pressure washing, line trimming, volleyball and horseshoe pit maintenance, cleaning of public grills, lock and unlock access gates and facilities.

This positionhave direct interaction with park patrons and will provide information and instruction to guest that are utilizing park facilities.

Employee will perform duties associated with maintenance of park grounds such as mulching, spreading gravel, repair fencing, leaf removal, snow removal, trail maintenance and general grounds maintenance tasks.

Employee may assist maintenance staff with the completion of small projects and work requests such as picnic table repair, staining, fencing and painting.

Responsible for operation and general maintenance of a variety of small equipment.

Performs all related work as required.
