Science Service Sustainability Introduction/Job Purpose: The Groundwater Protection and Agricultural Permitting Section Manager serves as the Section Manager for the Groundwater Protection and Agricultural Permitting Section.
Provides oversight and coordination of staff that plan and coordinate the programs.
Ensure efficient and effective implementation of the goals of the programs related to issuance of permits.
Coordinate with other program areas on issues as necessary.
Job Duties: * Assign duties to and supervise section staff.
Ensure that workplans are appropriately assigned and interact with staff to ensure that assignments are completed.
Provide oversight to section responsibilities to include permitting and maintenance of applicable databases.
Ensure that regulations, guidance documents, forms and DHEC website are updated as needed.
* Review agricultural permit applications and waste management plans, determine permit conditions and prepare permits for issuance.
* Coordinate with Office of General Counsel concerning Request For Reviews (RFRs) and appeals associated with these programs * Provide consultation to internal and external stakeholders Minimum and Additional Requirements A master's degree in the natural or physical sciences, public health or related technical field and five (5) years of environmental experience; or a bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences, public health or related technical field and six (6) years of environmental experience.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
