Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator to join our transport industry client on a contract basis in Pleasanton, California.

This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail and experience in payroll processing, multi-state tax compliance, and employee support.

The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to the accurate and timely management of payroll functions.

Responsibilities: - Manage payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 500 employees, including hourly, salaried, exempt, and non-exempt staff.

- Provide front-facing support by addressing employee inquiries and resolving payroll-related concerns.

- Oversee multi-state payroll tax setup and compliance across 37 states.

- Audit benefit reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies.

- Serve as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring seamless operations during absences.

- Collaborate on the cleanup and implementation of payroll and timekeeping systems, including Kronos and SAP SuccessFactors.

- Participate in meetings related to payroll migration projects and provide input for process improvements.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws.

- Utilize accounting software and platforms such as ADP Workforce Now to streamline payroll functions.

Requirements - Proven experience managing payroll for a workforce of 100-500 employees.

- Expertise in multi-state payroll tax regulations and setup.

- Proficiency in payroll platforms, including ADP Workforce Now and SAP SuccessFactors.

- Strong understanding of labor laws and compliance requirements.

- Demonstrated ability to audit and resolve discrepancies in benefit reports.

- Familiarity with timekeeping systems such as Kronos.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist employees effectively.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
