Supervises seasonal park workers, assigns duties, evaluates, and maintains proper work records.

Responsible for enforcement of all county ordinances governing the Shawano County Park system.

Employee must be able to work independent of direct supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Maintains County parks including mowing lawns, trimming edges, raking grass clippings and leaves; painting buildings, fences, picnic tables and other structures; builds and/or repairs facilities; cleans and disinfects toilet facilities; prunes, cuts and/or removes branches and brush; picks up litter and trash and hauls to the land fill; applies pesticides to eliminate hornets, flies and other pests; sweeps, clears and repairs driveways and walkways.

* Performs equipment maintenance including preventative and repair of all department vehicles, tractors, trailers, snowmobiles, small engines, tools and other items.

Illustrative of this type of work includes changing oil, washing vehicles, repairing hydraulic systems, replacing hoses and fittings, inspecting and replacing belts.

* Performs snowmobile, boat landing, hiking/walking and cross-country ski trail maintenance including prevention and repair of erosion; brush and tree cutting and removal; mowing using wheel tractor and rotary mower; installation and repair of posts, signs, gates, culverts, and bridges; grooms ski trails.

* Performs snow removal with a tractor with blade and/or front-end loader, shovels sidewalks, walkways and rooftops.

* Operates a variety of equipment including pick-up truck, dump truck, wheel tractor, riding lawn mower, snowmobile, ski - tracker, push mower, weed eater, chain saw, acetylene torch, grinders, brush cutter and hand tools.

* Performs a variety of tree and vegetation care including planting trees, seeding grass and clover, pruning plantations, thinning timber stands, applying herbicides and fertilizers.

Assists in development, design, and maintenance of county recreation trails.

* Performs road maintenance including removing rocks, mowing shoulders, installing and replacing culverts, hauling and spreading gravel, grading and smoothing roads and trails, removing wind fall trees, repairing and replacing signs.

* Makes a variety of signs using hand tools.

-Assists in reservations for campsites, shelters & pavilion.

* Responsible for petty cash monies generated by the county park system from boat landing pass fees, ski trail donations, bike trail fees.

Ensuring proper record keeping of all monies.

* Assists in operation of campground.

* Assists the public by responding to inquiries, presenting information to groups and interested parties.

Work Requirements: * Associate's Degree in Recreation & Parks, Law Enforcement or Forestry.

* Minimum of 2 years previous facilities, parks and/or grounds experience including custodial and maintenance repair experience.
