Position Overview:
The Team Leader oversees store operations during shifts when senior management is absent. This includes ensuring efficient productivity and high-quality service, as well as making recommendations to management regarding improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver outstanding customer service and respond to inquiries promptly and courteously, seeking customer feedback actively.
Coordinate effective workflow between associates and customers to ensure smooth food service and beverage operations.
Uphold safety, security, and quality standards in store operations, and follow Wawa's Crisis Management procedures as needed.
Provide motivation, direction, and coaching to team members during shifts for maximum performance.
Manage inventory levels for food service items based on time of day requirements.
Communicate growth opportunities within the food and beverage area to management.
Recognize and celebrate team achievements and contributions.
Manage cash handling processes and operate the register as necessary.
Ensure compliance with vendor check-in procedures for both internal and external parties.
Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of equipment and ensure store conditions meet established standards.
Essential Skills:

Physical stamina for standing, walking, reaching, and carrying up to 35 lbs during shifts.
Comfortable with store technology and processes.
Reliable transportation is required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Availability to work 35 - 40 hours per week with flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred experience in team leadership, training, and food service management.
Proven ability to implement change and drive results.
Familiarity with all areas of store operations, particularly foodservice.
Track record of exceptional customer service, relationship building, and effective communication skills.
