As an Accounting Systems Developer 1, you will provide technical expertise, problem analysis, and systems development services for the design and implementation of new or modified applications for the Controller's Organization.

Writes and debugs computer program code needed to implement software solutions.

Designs and constructs application programming interfaces.

Creates and maintains technical system documentation.

Troubleshoots complex errors in accounting-related systems as required, including identifying the root cause of the problem and recommending a solution as well as preventative procedures.

Develops more efficient, accurate and timely methods of meeting the department’s reporting and processing requirements. Researches new methods and procedures that can be used to meet those needs.

Tests any new implementations prior to deploying to the production environment to ensure there are no major interruptions in the department’s operation.

Participates in special projects to provide requested financial/non-financial information.

Adheres to INFOSEC standards established by Information Services.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s or higher level degree - in Accounting Information Systems, Computer Science or related field required.

Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience in the following area(s): C#, WPF, ASP.NET, Oracle PL/SQL, SQL Server, and Visual Studio preferred.

Knowledge of financial, ERP systems, and databases; particularly SAP, Business Warehouse, and HANA preferred.

Position level and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
