GL Accountant

A busy personal injury law firm is seeking a skilled GL Accountant to join their team. The GL Accountant will assist with the controller with managing and performing accounting operations.

Pay: $30-35/hr

Location: Downtown Houston

Type: Temp to Hire

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review association financial statements, P&L variances, bank reconciliations.

Prepare, review, and resolve banking issues.

Monitor and reconcile bank accounts.

Support management in the preparation of annual operating budgets.

Assist with recording accounts payable invoices and issuing checks.

Analyze and post end-of-year audit entries.

Work closely with supervisor on requested audits.

Maintain strong documentation standards and audit trails to support all transactions.

Requirements:

3+ years of general accounting experience

Strong general ledger accounting experience required

Strong MS Excel, ERP (prefer Sage 50), Salesforce

Experience researching and correcting issues

Adaptable, detail oriented, and a team player
