Maxar seeks an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) who can collaborate as a team partner with a dynamic full technology stack engineering team working on a large-scale Government Information software system in both operations and new development. The ISSO must possess technical, organizational and teamwork skills necessary to support the security of complex US Government Information Systems. As available, the ISSO will also support Systems Engineering activities with the team.

Note: US citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory for this position.

Principal Responsibilities:

Cyber Security Program Execution:

Lead end-to-end cybersecurity efforts across multiple classified systems, ensuring system accreditations (initial and ongoing) are achieved and maintained.

Perform vulnerability assessments, develop remediation strategies, and support continuous monitoring (CONMON) in coordination with the technical team.

Collaborate with engineers to embed cybersecurity requirements into development processes and manage security artifacts during system onboarding.

Develop and execute POA&Ms, and accurately represent the system’s cybersecurity posture to key stakeholders and government decision makers.

Create and maintain key security documentation, including CONOPS, SSPs, and BCDRPs, while supporting RMF accreditation package development.

Develop subject matter expertise by gaining deep familiarity with the system’s technical architecture, cyber security structure, documentation, supported mission sets, and compliance obligations.

Support systems engineering tasks as needed, including management (e.g. Jira, Confluence), documentation, and assisting with the design, development, deployment, and testing of new capabilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of experience and/or a master’s degree with 6 years of experience applying DoD Information Assurance (IA) and Information Security (IS) standards

Current Security+ CE or CISSP certification

Demonstrated knowledge with DoD IA/Cybersecurity Directives and applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on DoD systems, ACAS scanning tools, RMF packages.

Demonstrated success in managing a large or multi-tiered system, ensuring security requirements are met.

Demonstrated success in identifying and mitigating security incidents.

Demonstrated knowledge and application of ICD 503 standards and processes.

Active TS/SCI clearance; ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, and the Washington, DC metropolitan area is:

$155,000.00 - $175,000.00

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
