The Respiratory Therapist I participates in clinical practice, caring for patients across all ages according to physician orders, policies, and protocols.
Responsibilities include administering therapy, performing assessments, patient education, equipment setup, blood gas analysis, and operating ventilators and oxygen therapy.
Responds to emergencies, assists with procedures like intubations and bronchoscopies, and provides thorough shift reports.
Requires completion of an accredited Respiratory Care program, licensure as an RCP, BLS certification, and NBRC CRT/RRT certification.
Strong communication, organization, and professionalism are essential, along with the ability to handle stressful situations and demonstrate competency in complex conditions.
