Responsible for providing pulmonary care to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician supervision.
Perform patient assessments and develop respiratory care plans.
Execute technical and diagnostic respiratory procedures across hospital departments.
Meet competencies in self-leadership, team leadership, and emergency response, including airway management, aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator setup, and airway device maintenance.
Conduct blood gas analysis, EKG interpretation, chest film review, and therapeutic monitoring.
Assist with advanced practices such as pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, nocturnal SpO2 studies, polysomnography, and patient transport.
Document accurately, maintain equipment, and participate in hospital surveys.
May serve as shift or team leader.
Requirements include RRT license, BLS certification, 1-3 years of experience preferred, with additional advanced skills optional.
