Summary:
The competent Nurse practices independently within a similar clinical setting, demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care.
Provides both routine and complex nursing care, focusing on long-term goals and plans.
Develops skills to manage clinical contingencies and delegates appropriately to care team members.
Responsibilities:
Meets competency expectations across self, others, or leadership levels.
Provides nursing care based on the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
Addresses the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
Administers medications and treatments following protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families, or caregivers, identifying resources and issues.
Job Requirements:
Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
Valid RN license in the state of employment or compact license.
