The Surgical Technologist is a vital member of the patient care team, collaborating with the PCC-RN, Anesthesia Technician, and UCA to deliver patient-focused care, enhance service quality, reduce hospital stays, and lower costs.
Works under general supervision of the Perioperative Manager and direct supervision of the PCC-RN, performing intraoperative technical tasks following established policies.
Acts primarily as the scrub person, handling operating room materials and assisting during surgeries under the guidance of a Charge Nurse and credentialed surgeon.
Performs perioperative nursing tasks for pediatric and adult patients undergoing surgical or endoscopy procedures, ensuring quality and cost-effective care.
Maintains certification and ongoing education, demonstrating professional growth and organizational commitment.
Works rotating shifts, including call duties, adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a surgical technology training program, with 1 year of relevant experience required and 2-4 years preferred.
