• The Staff Nurse interprets medical care plans, assesses patients, and ensures safe, competent, individualized nursing care.
They perform patient assessments, review ancillary reports, communicate abnormal results, and develop patient care plans.
Maintains control of medications, equipment, and supplies, and plans for patient discharge and resource needs.
Refers patients to chaplain, social worker, and agencies, providing a secure environment.
Implements care by assigning tasks, performing treatments, and evaluating patient responses; may assist physicians and perform specialized procedures.
Educates patients and families, documents care, and assists with activities of daily living.
Coordinates patient transfers, notifies relevant parties of condition changes, and supervises staff performance.
Participates in teaching, orientation, meetings, and policy development.
Maintains confidentiality, performs other duties as assigned, and pursues professional growth.
Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, valid licensure, physical ability for demanding tasks, and willingness to relocate.
