Senior Network Engineer

Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructures across on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco networking technologies, and hybrid cloud networking on AWS and Azure. This role will ensure network security, reliability, and performance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including Cisco switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).

Develop and enforce network security policies and configurations to ensure compliance and optimal protection.

Implement and support hybrid cloud networking solutions involving AWS VPCs, Azure Virtual Networks, VPNs, and other cloud networking services.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues to maintain high availability and performance.

Conduct network assessments, audits, and recommend improvements to enhance network architecture.

Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration guides, and operational procedures.

Collaborate with IT teams and business units to integrate and support network solutions across the organization.

Monitor network performance and optimize for efficiency using appropriate tools.

Utilize automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for network management and operational tasks (preferred).

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 5 years of network engineering experience with strong hands-on knowledge of:

Palo Alto Firewalls

Cisco Switches and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)

Cisco Secure Network Analytics (SNA)

AWS and Azure networking, including hybrid cloud environments

Deep understanding of routing, switching, network security protocols, and load balancing.

Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills for complex network environments.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Top Secret or Secret Security Clearance (if applicable).

Familiarity with NIST 800-171 (CMMC) compliant network architectures.

Knowledge and experience with Zero Trust network architecture.

Experience with network monitoring tools such as PRTG.

Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and Ansible.

Relevant certifications such as:

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty

Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
