Job Description
Growing Company with a new opportunity for a Customer Service Representative role within an Extended Business Office setting. This position is only remote for the first month and then on-site in Elk Grove and offers a chance to contribute to a mission-driven healthcare environment by supporting patient financial services.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Delivering excellent customer service to patients and resolving billing issues in collaboration with internal departments.
Researching and reconciling remittance advice and patient account discrepancies.
Reviewing and processing credit balances and patient refunds.
Verifying health insurance information and processing patient credit card payments.
Handling patient inquiries, complaints, and billing concerns via phone, email, and in person.
Registering patients for hospital discount and charity care programs.
Performing administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and responding to mail.
Maintaining compliance with HIPAA and local/state/federal billing regulations.
This role does not involve direct patient care, but you’ll play a vital part in supporting the patient experience from a financial and administrative standpoint.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Bilingual English/Spanish-MUST.
Experience or familiarity with medical terminology, billing, and hospital operations is a plus.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to type at least 30 wpm.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must pass a criminal background check.
