Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator with experience in labeler operations and filler line changeovers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring equipment performance, preparing equipment for size changes, analyzing process data, and ensuring the accuracy of product labels and packaging.

Responsibilities

Possess a working knowledge and experience with labeler operations, including watching for jams and effectively threading wrap to prevent downtime.

Perform filler and filler line changeovers in a safe and efficient manner, including making adjustments to filler timing and checking mat as needed.

Prepare equipment for the next run, including making size changes as necessary.

Analyze process data and equipment performance data to improve quality and throughput, and troubleshoot issues.

Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of products.

Prepare case labels and review product labels for accuracy to ensure boxes and bottles are coded correctly.Essential Skills

1+ years of machine operating experience.

6+ months of experience with tape measure.

6+ months of computer operation experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience working on cars or other equipment (lube techs are a good fit).

Mechanical inclination and familiarity with hand tools.

Work Environment

You will be working in a manufacturing and production environment, which may include exposure to high/precarious places, moving machinery, changes in temperature and humidity, dust, odors, and loud noises. Candidates in Blending will work outdoors year-round, climb on railcars, and perform physically demanding tasks. Candidates in Packaging will work indoors, with hot temperatures in the summer and normal temperatures in the winter. The role involves inspecting packaging machines, making minor adjustments, and performing lockout/tagout procedures. The team size is approximately 90 people per shift. The dress code includes shorts or jeans, a clean work shirt, and steel toe (or composite) shoes. Shift options include A/B Shift (6:45am-6:45pm), C/D Shift (6:45pm-6:45am), Days (6:30am-3:00pm Mon-Fri), Nights (10:30pm-7:00am Sun-Thurs), and Mids (2:30pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri). Shift differentials are $1.50 for mids and $1.75 for nights.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Council Bluffs, Iowa.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
