Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining all industrial equipment. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring continuous operation of converting equipment and lines. Participation in manufacturing process improvement initiatives is required, along with performing repairs and implementing technical solutions. Familiarity with precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters is essential.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance on industrial equipment including conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers.

Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on all equipment.

Troubleshoot equipment to identify and resolve issues.

Ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and lines.

Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives.

Perform repairs and implement technical solutions.

Utilize precision measuring equipment effectively.Essential Skills

Experience in maintenance, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems.

1+ years of industrial maintenance experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and 3-phase motors.

Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves.

Troubleshooting and repair skills.

Experience with preventive maintenance and electrical systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

3+ years of experience working in a GMP environment preferred.

Computer proficiency in MS Office.

Minimum 5 years of related manufacturing experience in an FDA-regulated facility is ideal.

Experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position is within a privately held health and beauty care company operating nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers. The plant operates around the clock, five days a week, distributing products nationwide seven days a week. The facility is FDA-regulated, and candidates with a background in liquid filling or packaging, especially from the food and beverage industry, will find this experience advantageous. Be prepared for strong odors depending on the department, such as mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
