Remote Part Time Commission-Based Full-Time Upon Launch Foundational Leadership Role

The Writer’s House Collective is building something a bit different. We’re an interdisciplinary consultancy + creative firm designed to step in where growing companies need the most help—and we’re assembling our founding leadership team to get us off the ground.

We’re currently hiring a Chief Sales Officer to lead and build our sales organization from scratch during this pre-launch phase. This is a rare opportunity for someone who isn’t just great at closing deals—but knows how to architect a sales engine that scales.

As Chief Sales Officer, you will:

Design and lead our outbound sales strategy to secure our first 90 client contracts

Work cross-functionally with the other Chiefs (Strategy, Creative, Growth, Tech, Finance, and Operations) to ensure alignment and performance across the company

Oversee and mentor a team of commission-based Closers and Setters during pre-launch

Work alongside VAs and leadership to refine outreach and lead generation

Implement and manage Salesforce CRM to track all lead movement and performance

Collaborate directly with the CEO to shape pipeline, pricing, and proposal alignment

Build and systematize a sales process designed to scale into a full-functioning department

What you should know:

This is a commission-based role during the pre-launch phase. You’ll receive commission on all closed proposals, with a full-time salaried transition planned once we secure our initial client base.

You're welcome to maintain other work or commitments during this stage—as long as there's transparency, leadership, and forward motion. If post-launch timing no longer aligns, there’s no long-term obligation, but we’re looking for someone ready to lead this effort seriously and collaboratively.

You’re a great fit if you have:

A business background or acumen able to speak with business leaders

Strong experience selling B2B with a higher standard of price points

Experience leading or building early-stage sales teams (especially in startups, consultancies, or agencies)

Strong outbound sales and discovery skills for high-ticket services

Hands-on experience setting up and running Salesforce or similar CRMs

A leadership mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally with strategy and finance

The desire to build something meaningful, scalable, and different
