Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool & Die Makerfor a contract opportunity in Pinellas Park, FL.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their uses. Excellent attention to detail. Advanced troubleshooting skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings. Highly motivated team player. Innovative problem solver.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for using a range of materials including metals, fiberglass, thermal plastics, and other fabrication materials to create and maintain both soft and hard tooling for manufacturing processes. Repairs and fabricates dies and metal tools. Interprets designs, cuts and shapes tools and dies, and assembles completed parts. Visualizes and computes metal shapes and tolerances. Designs jigs and templates as work aids. Measures and marks metal stock for machining. Sets up and operates machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines. Cuts and shapes blocks to specified dimensions. Files, grinds, and shims metals to ensure a smooth finish. Fits and assembles tools and die parts. Inspects finished dies and form tools for defects, smoothness, and contour deformities. Sets up and runs CNC machining centers.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience in tool and die fabrication.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Accredited HSD/GED

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time

4/10 work schedule

Employment will be contingent on clearing a drug screen and background check. Both must clear prior to start date.
