Position: Structural Project Engineer
Location: Oceanside, CA (Hybrid Remote)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $36.00 - $50.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts
About the Role:
The Structural Project Engineer will oversee all engineering and technical disciplines related to assigned projects. You'll be responsible for planning, scheduling, resource management, and ensuring project quality and accuracy from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare proposals, schedule site visits, and coordinate with CAD staff
Set design loads, develop structural systems and framing layouts, and perform structural calculations
Ensure compliance with building codes, municipal regulations, standards, and geotechnical reports
Communicate effectively with clients to interpret project needs and offer cost-effective structural solutions
Perform quality control on project budgets, schedules, plans, and calculations, and provide regular status updates
Assign tasks and mentor the project team
Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide technical support
Review engineering deliverables and implement corrective actions as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as a project engineer in structural engineering
Strong knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD
Advanced skills in MS Office applications
Familiarity with applicable regulations, best practices, and performance standards
Ability to manage projects involving multiple disciplines
Strong project management and leadership skills
Licensed professional engineer (PE) preferred
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience with seismic design is a must-have
