Electrical Journeyman - Designer Role

Blueprint Consulting Engineers is a MEP engineering firm that provides engineering design and consulting services for various projects including office buildings, hotels, residential spaces, historical buildings, data centers, and research facilities. Our team has vast experience in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for our clients. We are looking for a journeyman electrician who is interested in making a switch (into an air conditioned office) to becoming an electrical designer.

Role Description

This is a full-time Electrical Designer role in our Austin office. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for designing and drawing electrical systems for MEP drawings. This includes lighting design, power distribution within buildings, panelboard schedules, one-line diagrams, etc.

We understand a journeyman may not have all of the knowledge needed to produce design drawings immediately, but we are looking for someone familiar with hands-on field experience and a strong knowledge of the NEC.

Qualifications

Journeyman electrician or apprentice with knowledge of the NEC

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit is a plus but not required
