Job Title: Network Architect

Place of Performance: 50 Wolf Rd., Albany, NY 12205 (Hybrid – Up to 50% telecommuting allowed; onsite required every Wednesday)

Minimum Experience: 7+ years in network architecture and infrastructure design

Rate: $68/hr - $91/hr, depending on experience

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 23.75 Months

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Network Architect to support a major infrastructure modernization and wireless network upgrade initiative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-level, multivendor network environments. This project will modernize the IT infrastructure across a high-visibility public venue, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop scalable network architecture, including wireless and IoT integration

Provide technical support and resolve network-related incidents and issues

Recommend, test, and implement recovery and disaster recovery solutions

Document all aspects of architecture, configurations, and operating procedures

Manage equipment lifecycle: installation, upgrades, and decommissioning

Configure and upgrade network software across multiple platforms

Coordinate efforts across internal teams, vendors, and engineering partners

Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and network standards

Support planning and modernization of IT infrastructure at the project site

Ensure alignment with best practices and emerging technologies

Qualifications:

84+ months of experience designing, implementing, and supporting multivendor network platforms (Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Meraki)

84+ months of hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless technologies

84+ months working with Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies including TCP/IP, 802.1Q, OSPF, BGP, DWDM, and both single-mode and multimode fiber

84+ months of experience developing scalable and redundant network designs

84+ months implementing Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic shaping mechanisms
