Jr Logistics Associate

Job Description

We are looking for a candidate to join the Cotton Logistics team and provide Export Logistics support within the ECOM USA Cotton Traffic department. The role is focused on Cotton shipping in the United States and Export from the United States, including coordinating the warehouse, truck or inland carriers, ocean carriers, customers, or agents.

Essential Functions

Working with the Logistics Manager to provide logistics support to the trading team

Liaising with our overseas operations, suppliers, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and warehouse partners

Responsible for executing International Shipments per contractual terms, cost and budget control, review of contract terms, and country requirements (ex: Import Permits, and Originals Letters of Credit).

Checking & processing invoices for payment and liaising with the Accounts team

Organizing timely pick-ups and deliveries, as well as updating the internal systems

Responsible for coordinating and updating warehouse and various reports

Competencies

Intermediate Excel & Word skills

Highly numerate and analytical with attention to detail

Strong organizational skills

Understanding of the supply chain and ability to navigate common obstacles and provide effective solutions

Excellent communication skills and collaboration within a team environment

Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Not required but ideally proficient in Spanish

Experience in the Agriculture or cotton industry

Preferred Education and Experience

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/ Supply Chain or Business, or at least 3 years experience in Logistics or Supply Chain.

Minimum 2 years of work experience – ideally within a shipping/logistics environment
