EMS Thin Metal Parts is seeking a Full-Time Metrology Technician.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Metrology Technician to join our dynamic team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that measurement systems are accurate and reliable, which is vital for maintaining high standards in our manufacturing processes. A keen understanding of measurement principles and quality control practices will be essential for success in this role..
Summary: Inspect parts through visual inspection and use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to measure tolerances of custom manufactured parts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Inspect/measure parts using the CMMs (Micro-Vu and Keyence experience a plus)
Optically inspect parts when appropriate.
Measure thickness of parts when required.
Interface with engineers.
Interface with Sales personnel.
Fill in for operators in other areas when appropriate.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Math and computer training
Other Considerations:
Extensive knowledge of / ability to learn TMP database system.
Extensive knowledge of / ability to learn Micro-Vu and Keyence software (Previous experience a plus)
Demonstrable PC skills including Microsoft Excel.
Ability to use various tools such as a micrometer, vernier caliper, and drop gauge.
Able to read blueprints/drawings.
Knowledge of geometric tolerancing is highly desirable.
Able to do calculations from drawings and translate to computer programs.
Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
Quality Control
Fluent English written and verbal skills.
