ASR International Corp. has an opportunity for an Aircraft Mechanic position providing Corrosion Maintenance Support (CMS) to perform Intermediate Level (I-Level) and Organizational Level (O-Level) corrosion control related to scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on the F/A-18 and F-35 aircraft aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point. The scope of maintenance activities to be performed is expected to include special inspections, corrosion treatment, corrosion prevention, topcoat maintenance/low observable restoration, and environmental seal restoration maintenance, all performed in coordination with the MAG/MALS Aircraft Maintenance Officer and the respective Squadron AMO/Maintenance Material Control Officer.

Perform O-Level and I-Level maintenance on MAG-14 aircraft and other aircraft as assigned to MALS-14. Perform scheduled and unscheduled F/A-18 and F-35 CMS tasks at the O-Level of maintenance, including organizational level documentation, servicing, lubricating, special inspections, corrosion treatment, corrosion prevention, and topcoat maintenance.
I-Level maintenance activities include intermediate level documentation, servicing, lubricating, special inspections, corrosion treatment, corrosion prevention, and topcoat maintenance. Corrosion maintenance determined to be depot level (D-level) maintenance (outside of work scope) shall be reported to the MMCO/Production Control Officer (PCO) via email within 24 hours of discovery.
Conduct aircraft corrosion prevention, treatment, and inspections of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Examine, inspect, investigate, repair, and provide recommendations to the local Maintenance Control or government agency.
Requirements will be performed in a manner that meets or exceeds COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 (series) programs and applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures (NAMPSOPs) and local NAMPSOP instructions. All Interim I-Level and O-Level repair requirements found during inspection/corrective action shall be reported to the designated squadron MMCO and AMO.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience/Education:
At least 4 years of experience working on Military aircraft and F/A-18 or F-35 Airframes Organizational Maintenance is required. FAA Airframe & Powerplants (A&P) certification and relevant civilian aircraft experience may be used as a substitute.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent - General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
Must demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts. Must have knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
Performs troubleshooting, repair, modifications, corrosion control and preservation of aircraft and aircraft systems and aircraft sub-systems. Performs preventive maintenance inspections on aircraft and aircraft systems and subsystems.
Performs routine aircraft maintenance functions, maintains aircraft hydraulic systems, and operates aircraft towing equipment in towing operations. Services ground support equipment and performs preventive maintenance inspections on all ground support equipment.
Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA and ALIS. Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, ALIS and required forms.
Ability to use blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties. Must be able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
Must be familiar with the Support Maintenance Programs outlined in the NAMP and NAVAIRINST 3710.1H to maintain and sustain applicable maintenance programs for inspection.
Qualification/Certification in the following areas: Level III Marine Aviation Training and Education Program (MATMEP) Certification; A/S32A-45 Tow Tractor; ACU-24/M Air Compressor; Brake Rider; Egress Certified; Tow Qualified; Corrosion Control/Paint and Final Finish; Respirator Fit-Test; Hazardous Material/Waste Handling; Aircraft Confined Space Program Qualified; Low Observable Paint Qualified; Paint Qualified; and Medically qualified to apply zardcyanates paints using spray/brush/roller application techniques.
Experience with/knowledge of the following: Corrosion Prevention and Treatment; Aircraft Paint and LO Training; Aviation Structural Mechanic Core; and Aviation Structural Mechanic Organizational Level.
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems. Must be able to acquire appropriate SMQ to initiate MAF/WO and complete maintenance action within Squadron NALCOMIS OOMA.**Please note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
