We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in beautiful Portland, Maine. Our facility is home to board-certified experts in Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology.

What You’ll Do As a Radiology Veterinary Assistant, you’ll support the Radiology Technician and specialty teams in the care and preparation of patients undergoing advanced imaging such as CT, MRI, and digital radiography. You will help ensure the smooth coordination of procedures, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and assist in day-to-day operations that support both patients and clinicians.
In this role, you will:
Safely restrain patients for imaging and assist with positioning for radiographs, CT, and MRI scans
Support preparation and post-procedure care for sedated or anesthetized patients
Monitor patients and report changes in vitals or behavior to the technician or DVM
Help set up for imaging-guided procedures, including FNAs and biopsies
Clean and restock exam rooms, treatment areas, and radiology suites
Assist with data entry, imaging charge documentation, and proper labeling of studies
Understand and follow hospital protocols for radiation safety and infection control
Support communication with other departments regarding case flow and patient needs
Anticipated Schedule
This is a full-time position with the following schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Compensation
Starting at $22/hr

Requirements
1–2 years of experience in a veterinary setting preferred
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Basic knowledge of veterinary terminology and radiology safety protocols
Ability to lift and assist patients (up to 45 lbs)
Familiarity with digital imaging systems and patient handling techniques is a plus
Positive attitude and a team-first mindset
