Job Summary:
The Production Shift Leader oversees the daily operations of a production shift, ensuring that food products are manufactured efficiently, safely, and according to strict quality standards. This role involves supervising production line staff, maintaining workflow, meeting production targets, and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of production associates during the assigned shift
Monitor daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety goals
Ensure compliance with food safety standards, SOPs, and company policies
Train, coach, and mentor team members to build skills and increase efficiency
Communicate effectively with management and other departments to resolve issues
Maintain accurate shift records, reports, and documentation
Support continuous improvement efforts in production processes and team culture
Participate in audits and inspections as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred
Minimum 2 years of experience in a food manufacturing or production environment
Prior leadership or supervisory experience required
Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to stand for long periods and work in refrigerated or hot environments
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts if necessary
